The region

Saint-Pair-sur-Mer is a French commune situated in the Manche department in the Normandie region, with a population of 4,507. It is one of the oldest coastal settlements on the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel: in the tenth century it saw substantial Scandinavian settlement before becoming, in 1022, one of the estates of the monks of Mont-Saint-Michel, who made it prosper. Since the mid-nineteenth century, Saint-Pair has been a seaside resort that has managed to preserve its medieval heritage.
