In the heart of deep Burgundy, the Abbaye du Val des Choues is a place of exceptional character nestled in 21 hectares of park and forests, in the heart of the Côte-d’Or. Founded in the 12th century, this restored Cistercian abbey welcomes groups in a preserved historic setting: vaulted ceilings, cut stone floors and period fireplaces give each room a unique atmosphere between medieval grandeur and contemporary comfort. The main gîte can accommodate up to 30 people in 13 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet. The large, fully equipped kitchen (fridges, oven, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, etc.) makes it possible to organize convivial meals for the whole group, extended on the outdoor tables facing the French gardens. The abbey lends itself to a wide range of events: weekends with friends, business seminars, weddings and ceremonies (officiant and wedding planner available), birthdays or spiritual retreats. A private pond of more than one hectare invites swimming and fishing, while the billiard room and the games room provide evening entertainment. Firewood is provided, event teepees can be set up for outdoor evenings, and the on-site hunting and nature museum enriches the stay with an unexpected cultural dimension. A pack of 100 dogs housed in the adjacent kennel is available for visits on weekends. The area is quiet and very isolated, ideal for total disconnection, while remaining accessible from Dijon (around 60 km) or Troyes via the main roads. End-of-stay cleaning is included in the package (€150), bed linen is provided, and weekend or full week packages are available.
